Johnson Crypt Memorial Service

.

A crypt near the Lakeport Plantation house contains the remains of Cable Johnson (1865-1867), the last son of Lycurgus and Lydia Johnson.  It is believed that three additional children are buried nearby:  Julia Johnson (1860-1869), daughter of Lycurgus and Lydia Johnson;  Lucie Cable Worthington (1880-1881),  granddaughter of Lycurgus and Lydia Johnson; and Lydia J. Starling (1879-1882), granddaughter of Lycurgus and Lydia Johnson.  A memorial service at the restored crypt was part of the Greater Johnson Family Reunion during the Grand Opening weekend.  (Photos courtesy of Claudia Shannon and Skip Stewart-Abernathy)
