Rains have inundated the area around Lakeport Plantation during March and April 2008.  The Mississippi River in the Greenville, Mississippi-Lake Village, Arkansas area is predicted to crest on April 9 at 55.5 feet, 5.5 feet above flood stage.

Though not expected to top the levee, Ol' Man River is closer to Lakeport Plantation than he has been in a long time.  Below are pictures taken April 5, 2008 from the levee directly in front of the house.  Note that if you look through the trees in the center of the first photo, you can see all the way to the main channel of the river.  In the lower photo, the Lakeport Plantation house is to the right.
