Blake Wintory, Ph.D., Assistant Director and Facilities Manager
Blake conducts most tours and provides on-site supervision for the Lakeport Plantation project. Wintory holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Anthropology and a Ph.D. in Environmental Dynamics from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Previously he was Director of Research and Interpretation at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, a museum of the Department of Arkansas Heritage. Beside giving tours, Blake is researching different topics on Lakeport’s and the regions history.

Amanda Knight, Museum Registrar
Amanda serves as museum registrar, office manager and helps curate the collections for the Lakeport Plantation. Knight, a native of Greenville, Mississippi, received her B.A. in History from Louisiana Tech. For information about Lakeport Plantation, please contact Blake or Amanda.

Ruth Hawkins, Ph.D., Executive Director
Ruth is Director of Arkansas Heritage Sites at Arkansas State University, which includes overall responsibilities for policies and programs at the Southern Tenant Farmers Museum in Tyronza, Lakeport Plantation in Lake Village, the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center in Piggott, and the Johnny Cash Boyhood Home Project in Dyess. Ruth also is Executive Director of Arkansas Delta Byways, a 15-county tourism promotion association that promotes Eastern Arkansas and its two national scenic byways: Crowley’s Ridge Parkway and the Arkansas Great River Road, and is a faculty member in A-State’s Heritage Studies Ph.D. program

Paula Miles, Assistant Director, Arkansas Heritage Sites
Paula provides administrative support and oversight for the Southern Tenant Farmers Museum, Lakeport Plantation, Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Education Center, and the Johnny Cash Boyhood Home Project. She also is Treasurer for Arkansas Delta Byways. Her responsibilities include serving as office manager, coordinating special events, and developing ongoing activities in the Delta region and along the Crowley’s Ridge Parkway and the Arkansas Great River Road national scenic byways.
